Violent crimes up 30% in Portugal


Numbers release by the Direcção Central de Combate ao Banditismo (DCCB) entity that documents the numbers of crimes committed in Portugal state that violent crimes are up 32% compared to last year. Considered violent crimes are robberies to Banks, postal services and transports of valuables in which use of fire arms by well organized criminals and gangs is evident. The DCCB also stated that the crimes are generally perpetrated by emigrants and that the already detained are mostly Brazilian.
