SAPO news search

SAPO the Portuguese internet Portal own by Portugal Telecom will be launching a news service, similar to Google news, called Pesquisa de Notícias. According to Portugal Telecom’s site, the SAPO Pesquisa de Notícias will use over one hundred national and regional sources of information to gather the most relevant results for its users, assuring in this way the position of largest news aggregator in number of Portuguese sources.
Pesquisa de Notícias is the first of a set of new functions that are scheduled to be presented in 2006, resulting from the acquisition of crawling technology which in return permitted the strengthening SAPO’ search capabilities.
The service can be consulted on the SAPO homepage, http://www.sapo.pt/, or directly at http://noticias.sapo.pt/
