Portugal apprehends 20% of EU cocaine

In 2005 there was an increase of 75 per cent in the apprehension of drugs in Portugal, compared to the previous year, according to news revealed by the national director of the Judiciary Police “Polícia Judiciária”, José Braz.

"Portugal apprehended 20% of all cocaine in the European Union ", said Jose Braz, pointing out that in 2004 it had been responsible for the apprehension of only 10% of that Drug. The only drug that saw the number of apprehensions decreased in 2005 compared to 2004 was hashish.
