Protest in Lisbon

Around 10.000 Government workers are expected to protest today in Lisbon. The demonstrators want to protest against the pay rise of 1.5% and the stagnation of careers.

The demonstration is scheduled to start at 15h00 in the Alto Parque Eduardo VII, after which the demonstrators will walk towards the Praça Marques de Pombal finally ending ate São Bento were Union representatives will present speeches contesting the Government and its policy towards workers.

According to labor Unions, the new measures imposed by the Socialist Government go against the workers and their rights.
