Citizenship law approved

The government has approved a new law that entitles the grandchildren of Portuguese immigrants that where born in a foreign country to obtain citizenship. With this new law in place it will be possible to attribute Portuguese citizenship to any third generation immigrant as long as one of the parents where born in Portugal.

Is this really true? Do you have a link that you can share to a news story on a well known website or to a portuguese government website? For some reason I have always thought that fate would some day bring me back to Portugal. Although it hasn't happened yet this law would make it possible for my family to do that if we had too. Check out my blog at ferreira-news.blogspot.com to find out why.
